Bob Parr

Tue Dec 16, 2008 11:14 am

Tue Dec 16, 2008 11:10 am

Xmas? What's that? I will be either working (volunteered as no kids) or drinking in between the eating done at parents' house.
Race Track

Tue Dec 16, 2008 11:10 am

Tue Dec 16, 2008 11:07 am

Tue Dec 16, 2008 11:07 am

Morning girls!
Race Track

Tue Dec 16, 2008 11:05 am

yeah it did but they always manage to retrieve some old backyears editions, I love em actually, there was a 1968 TOTP put out last week, Spaced? Yeah I gotta catch that, what else?
falkor

Tue Dec 16, 2008 11:04 am

I thought TOTP got cancelled? I think I will be watching a few DVDs myself, the more comedy the better. Spaced is fun, I've just discovered that. Simon Pegg certainly does some funny stuff, I have to say.
lieutenant fatman

Tue Dec 16, 2008 11:01 am

I know, when you start actaully thinking about how they would do that it just creates a whole logistics nightmare of it's own, hey let's think about something more cheerful, what';s ON TV at Xmas? The Great Escape? TOTP 2006?
falkor

Tue Dec 16, 2008 11:00 am

Sounds like a good idea, surely it's not to late? Although I suppose it is, they would have to close the M25 for a number of years while they built. That would create a few nightmares to be sure!
lieutenant fatman

Tue Dec 16, 2008 10:58 am

no we're lucky on that score but I did hear that about 15 years ago one of the construction firms tentatavely suggested that they would be up for the job of placing a second deck
falkor

Tue Dec 16, 2008 10:56 am

Get rich and buy a helicopter instead? Although that wouldn't work in the Heathrow area I suppose. Maybe we should build an underground tunnel. That could be rather interesting. No earthquakes to worry about really.
lieutenant fatman

Tue Dec 16, 2008 10:55 am

yeah - I always plan to zonk down it at midnight, real quiet then but sometimes you just have to chance it at 8am, what's the answer?
falkor

Tue Dec 16, 2008 10:53 am

I hear the government are considering putting traffic lights on it! That could be fun eh? Pretty packed at 8 in the morning I know that much.
lieutenant fatman

Tue Dec 16, 2008 10:49 am

nah - couldn't get the thing going for love or money, here what's the situation with the M25 nowadays? :P
falkor

Tue Dec 16, 2008 10:49 am

Wow, sounds dangerous! Any resulting fireworks? Did this plan actually work?
lieutenant fatman

Tue Dec 16, 2008 10:47 am

well a blowtorch does help and building a fire with any brickenbrack that you find lieing about, remains of old broken down treehouses anything woody or twiggy that can burn then delicately hold said dismantled carb
falkor

Tue Dec 16, 2008 10:41 am

That sounds unfortunate Falkor. How do you remedy a frozen carburretor these days?
lieutenant fatman

Tue Dec 16, 2008 10:40 am

hahah here I had a major problem with my mum's lawnmower last week, the left/h carburretor froze as I was doing the slope, can you beleieve it? :P
falkor

Tue Dec 16, 2008 10:39 am

I takes a while I'll have you know! Those mountains are bigger than they seem once you get closer to them.
lieutenant fatman

Tue Dec 16, 2008 10:37 am

Lieutenenat where have you been? not mowing the grass I hope!! :D
falkor

Tue Dec 16, 2008 10:36 am

What's the moral of the story? I must know!
lieutenant fatman

Tue Dec 16, 2008 10:14 am

yeah I could go into that but by the end of it I don't think you would appreciate the moral of the story :P

  •   Are you a member of a union?

  • RECOMMENDATION

all T.Os across the UK should strongly consider joining a union. Inside staff largely join the PCS union.

Onroad T.Os should really join PROSPECT

If you are already in a union think about encouraging others to consider this issue

    read the thread on this

    join the PCS union
The Public and Commercial Services Union (PCS) is the fifth largest trade union in the UK, with over 300,000 members.

Our members are organised throughout the civil service and government agencies, making us the UK's largest civil service trade union.
Prospect is an independent, thriving and forward-looking trade union with more than 102,000 members in the public and private sectors.

Our members are engineers, scientists, managers and specialists in areas as diverse as agriculture, defence, energy, environment, heritage, shipbuilding and transport. We are the largest union in the UK representing professional engineers.

Prospect advises, defends and supports members if they have a problem at work. We also:
    •   • negotiate pay and conditions
    •   • campaign for jobs and standards
    •   • offer valuable benefits and services
    •   • influence employers and government.
