Right here goes, im looking for some small, neat and effective road strobes to use when i come across RTC's off duty. Happens more frequently than id like tbh.
One incident sticks in my mind about 2 months ago, regional road (b road i think youd call it) speed limit 50mph, 2 lanes opposing traffic, came around a right hand bend and saw the ominous sign something was wrong, brake lights and hazard lights. Anyway it was 1 vehicle involed driver had over compensated for the bend on the wet and playesd a game of honda civic pinball with his car and the trees
Anyway i stopped short, put my car in fend off (fiat punto wont stop much but better than nowt) grabbed the amber beacon from the boot popped it on the roof, told my passangers to get out, gave one of them another hivis and my bag of quick cones (handy little devils, dfb surplus got them for a song) told him to lay them out and go further up the road to warn on comers of the lane block, then grabbed my bag and hi vis and went to assess the scene,as i got to the vehicle i heard and almighty screech of tires and see an suv miss my car by milimetres at best. Diver had ignored all my friends warnings and the cones and came barrelling through
Luckily DFB and Ambo arrive about 10 mins later and gardaí (police) shortly after that so the road was closed by them (fire engine eighter end does the trick) but i saw them putting down little led lights on the road, great things

Now i looked into getting something similar but these particluar ones are two expensive, i seems to have settled on the powerflare
Write ups seem great, 9 patterns, long life, very durable and very bright and obtained qute cheaply on eBay
Just wondering if anyone has seen them or used them and are they worth it??
