I found a brand new iphone 4s when I was out on my bike on Sunday morning. It had no charge so I gave it a boost later and phoned "Dad" who was delighted that his son's one-week-old phone had been found and promptly collected and left me a reward of £20!! Did you accept the £20 " rew...

Re: Police Fitness test.

Another good example for the annual fitness test..

Again I'm not suggesting that we have commando style tests!! Level 5.4 is the minimum required standard, and if people can't handle a brisk walk for five minutes then training and support should be offered

Re: Police Fitness test.

I think it's important to have a very basic level of fitness! Our country is gripped by obeaseity and this needs to be challenged. Example, if a PCSO is hugely overweight and completely unfit and continually goes sick for whatever reasons, surely it would be in the forces interest to promote healty ...

Re: Police Fitness test.

I wouldnt fail the current fitness test.. 5.4 on the bleep test is nothing more then a brisk walk. And yes I think we should have a standard fitness test..

Re: Police Fitness test.

Medical yes! BMI no

Example, a six foot two 17 stone rugby player will have a huge BMI, but will still be able to pass the fitness test! Should they be excluded from employment after passing the fitness requirement?

Police Fitness test.

I heard a few people talking about the basic recruitment style fitness test today, one of these people mentioned that if an overweight person passed all of the required fitness tests, the force could not turn the applicant down on the basis of their weight.

Has anyone else heard this??

Re: Nights

Again I agree, however some forces ( like mine ) have a very strict no working past midnight rule for all PCSOs, therefore I think it is fair to conclude that this rule is in place to prevent the paying of he extra shift allowance

Re: Nights

It's got nothing to do with PPE and everything to do with the extra shift allowance that we would have to be paid.

The PCSOs offered to work..

It's the force that stopped them.

Re: Nights

My force has a strict no working past midnight. We even had PCSOs volunteer to Marshall a local Midnight Walk in aid of a cancer charity. However all of the PCSOs where informed that they where not allowed to work as the walk would mean them working after midnight. So they staffed it with PCs on ove...
