God forbid the lowly mindless PCSO's actually make use of the hospitality extended to them by the various companies and businesses they come across. Lets not forget to castigate the Co-operative for their "Its a Fair Cop" campaign...

2 cell maglite ideal (flash and bash as already said)

perhaps a little clip on for filling in your PNB at night

If you REALLY need the lumens, get a flyover from the helo. That badboy will light things up for you

mentoring is good for both the mentor and the mentee. Ive worked in local schools as part of a local business mentoring program. Getting business owners in and doing the mentoring. the problem I found was who the schools were pairing you up with. I had a kid with major family issues that clearly was...

looks like im getting in at the right time...although given that Derby were one of the last to take up PCSO....theyll drag their heels about accepting this :-)

Well this is a promising thread.
Im starting PCSO training in a few weeks but the ultimate goal is PC.
Didnt really know the lie of the land as Im not on the inside yet but felt confident that
you got at least one browny point for being a PCSO :-)

My whole process took around 10 weeks culminating in an offer to start August this year. I thought that was good... Couldn't accept the offer though due to holidays and subsequently missed two other courses due to HR balls up.
Eventually confirmed that Im starting in Feb 09
