Re: Do you do Crime Reports?

Re: 2 weeks in..... my first question ?

Very odd that you would be declined some business cards... What force are you with? Put the requisition in anyway and if it is declined I would look at making your own.

Re: Single Patrol

Initially I was paired up all of the time but of course I was new so was being tutored essentially. Once I was declared fit to patrol solo my tutor was moved to another area on our NPT leaving me to patrol solo day and night shifts. On my patch we have 1 PC and PCSO being me on my team to cover and ...

Re: Do you do Crime Reports?

Generally I crime damages, commercial burglary and burglary other. Although if a statement is required that is passed on to a PC to do. I do the H+H enquiries, CCTV enquiry etc etc and if something comes up that may mean delving into it a little further I pass that to a PC to investigate if necessary.

Re: PCSO arrest under S.24a PACE (i.e. citizen's arrest)

Not had chance to read through every post on here properly but I have been doing the job for a few weeks now and already made 2 detentions. Arresting is dangerous and I wouldn't do it unless I absolutely must due to the lack of search powers when an arrest is made. However if you feel that detention...

Just quoting the Police Could You? website. *A number of crimes will mean a definite or likely rejection of your application, including anyone who has received a formal caution in the last five years, committed a violent crime or public order offence* Violent crime is not looked at very favourably b...

Re: Failed my interview but don't know why

Sorry to say it but I am pretty sure 2 counts of assault would preclude somebody from service 99% of the time. Also you can not know if it would have failed you or not as your checks are usually done after your initial assessments and interviews.

Good luck anyway though.

Re: West Yorkshire Police

Currently unemployed at the moment after going from job to job. Never really managed to settle into one job. Worked in the radio industry and even played some professional rugby but never really been in a proper career due to my medical history stopping me from joining the RAF after almost 2 years i...

Re: West Yorkshire Police

Seriously hoping for the August intake. If it does go ahead we should sort out a meetup whilst we are there unless we are in the same class of course.
