1) No

2) No (drivers only have to give insurance details if there is an injury)

Re: PCSOs taking part in Warrants

Thats clarified that then! Thanks Big Brother. To agree with MJ in our force sec18s are also often reffered to as "warrants" and PCSOs will help on them. The only problem I can see is we have not had any formal training on searching. Do PCs get trained on how to search and where to look and methods...

Re: PCSO's attending Red/Grade 1 Jobs

Ask for a copy of the PCSO risk assessments..... it should give you your answer...

If for some reason you end up in court because of the incident, they may be referred to and you may be questioned on whether your actions fell in line with them.

Re: Opps I did it again

We had one - first 3 months of pregancy she patrolled as normal then after that she was stuck in the ibo putting on stops for officers - she was very bored lol I thought that as soon as you declare your pregnant you get put on light duties straight away. I know a PCSO that ended up seconded to diff...

Re: Top police officer helped family during recruitment driv

Bert- Maybe, but I think it's more of a case of having a different opinion. GMPCSO- Yes, definitely. In my view, for a year minimum. Then if a person has a driving job and they have taken the risk of drinking and driving they have only themselves to blame. Being punished twice is because they are d...

Re: Top police officer helped family during recruitment driv

I don't think they're bad examples- A postie and bank clerk can do their jobs without a licence just as much as a PCSO can. We (Met SNT PCSOs) are not allowed to drive. Therefore, we can do our jobs just as well with or without a driving licence. I can see the resoning behind PCs being punished twi...

Re: Top police officer helped family during recruitment driv

Agreed... My argument is that if a person drink drives they should lose their licence, ad if that means there job too they should have though about that before risking it. My problem is that the way your posts are written it comes across like your saying its ok if a person is just a little over the ...

Re: Top police officer helped family during recruitment driv

No I would not use discretion for drink drivers. I'm trying to make the point that offenders should be punished- but not twice for the same offence. Which part of tht is so difficult to understand? My personal view is that there should be zero limit on alcohol and driving (as many counries have). T...

Re: Top police officer helped family during recruitment driv

Oh, if he was only slightly over the limit thats ok... I tell all the drink drivers I find to be careful and send them on their way because they are less likely to kill someone than a person thats had an absolute skinful.... People can bang on about some people being capable of driving with differen...

Re: Top police officer helped family during recruitment driv

so if someone started throwing petrol bombs in the street but nobody was hurt as a result ("no harm done") they should be dealt with more lightly????? Driving whilst drunk is dnagerous and anybody who does it but "doesnt hurt anyone" should be dealt with as harshly as someone who does crash / have a...
