Re: Winsor Report

Arthur, historically I don't think i've ever really agreed with you but today, I like the cut of your jib. We're all here to do one thing. Catch criminals. The government wants to do that as cheaply as possible because they've run out of money so they've employed cheaper police to do it. Part...

Re: Hit My Orange Button Today For The First Time!

Erm... i've been away for a while. Did I miss something?? TCB gone? Oh bum. Never mind. I did enjoy our little bouts of banter. Cest la vie. This reminds me of the multiple times friends in the cops have been locked up, sacked or sent down for things and I've never heard from them again. Gotta be st...

Re: PC Simon HARWOOD to be charged with Manslaughter

Yeah but that wouldn't make it right. I've been out of the loop in news/politics for ages so I don't fully know this incident but just reading the details on who did what to whom and when I'm inclined to think that the bobby lost the plot for a moment and lashed out. Normally it wouldn't have gone a...

Re: Should PCSO's issue "Council" tickets for dog fouling?

When my local council agread to part fund PCSOs part of the job description included responsibility to tackle littering and dog fouling. Recently the council has had to employ a special team of wardens for this duty as the PCSOs were not doing it ( for a variety of reasons) Locally the PCSOs didn't ...

Re: The Cuts thread

Suprise! I am not 'one of you' but allowed to post!! I am trying to understand the redundancy issue as my son is a Lancs PCSO. I understand that central Government finances PCSOs via a grant ( seperatly identified in the funding for the rest of the force. Lancashire, (and I assume, all the forces) d...

Re: Lancashire PCSO's get the axe

Bleak times indeed, I, along with all my colleagues are to be subjected to the indignity of having to be individually interviewed regarding our ability to perform our duties adequatley. Irrespective of having attained the relevant level of profficiency at initial interview stage, we are to sit befo...

Re: Lancashire PCSO's get the axe

Not sure if it's already been mentioned but I'd be suprised if not... Lancashire look to be making 180 PCSO's redundant very shortly due to funding cuts from their council. Some are already underway and the rest will follow shortly. Come the new year the force will then look at the rest of the PCSO...

Re: Youth crimes - how would you deal with this?

Hay all, Have kind of hijacked a completely unrelated thread with this subject, so thought i’d start a separate one here. What would YOU do in the following circumstances - step by step please? You are on foot patrol and you smell that distinctive pungent cannabis smell. You can see two youths in t...

Either a nasty rumour or someone saying something to a mate who tells another mate and then before you know it its snowballed into the end of the world and we're out of a job yesterday!

Lancs have hardly any powers and we don't do much 'enforcing' except on low level ASB.
