Re: Pay cut for new PCs. How will affect PCSOs
No need to submit a request as they don't need to state: The "Annual Report" of UNISON's "Fighting Privatisation in Police and Justice" campaign says: "Our ‘Stop Police Privatisation’ campaign continues and it is gathering support. We need to ensure that UNISON-backed police and crime commissioner c...

Re: Pay cut for new PCs. How will affect PCSOs
Glyn Thank you for taking the time to reply. We are still non the wiser how much Unison paid the PCC for the last couple of years and will he receive money this year. If you dig deeper into his past you will see he was a shop steward for Unison, so it runs through his blood. PCSOs are not working lo...

Re: Pay cut for new PCs. How will affect PCSOs
Glyn The problem is no one knows what level of support or money changed hands, as they are refusing to say. If you google Shaun Wright you will see his interests when he was a councillor and every year he states that he received financial help and declared it. Now he is the Boss this is open to abus...

Re: Pay cut for new PCs. How will affect PCSOs
GlynB “Unison, whose members include PCSos and other police civilian staff and is the second biggest in the police after the Police Federation, has said it is “supporting” the campaigns of three Labour candidates, John Prescott in Humberside, Shaun Wright in South Yorkshire and Mark Burns-Williamson...

Re: Home Sec Unveils plan to fight ASB, & Pay Conditions
Sorry, if this site is only for PCSO then I will not post. I came onto this site when I joined the Neighbourhood team to get an insight into the PCSO role so I understood how other forces worked. But after a few years, nothing has really changed and this site has lost many contributors because if yo...

Re: Home Sec Unveils plan to fight ASB, & Pay Conditions
Forces have not lost the grant, the grant has all been added into the 'one big pot' but is slightly reduced. Once again I have to disagree regarding value for money. PCSOs do a good job but are not value for money. As a PC I take home £1850, a PCSO colleague takes home £1610. I think the PC is excel...

Re: anyone up for a 500m shield run?
You only run as fast as the slowest officer or the line will split and officers will get hit by objects on their sides (no protection) no scientific reason for the test ? says who!? :slwoot: [/quote] She won her case as the force could not prove the scientific reasoning for the test. If their is no ...

Re: What are the Police For ????
the very Police Forces who have just served notices on cops with 30 years service requiring them to retire now announce amazing new recruitment? WE NEED BRAND NEW COPS just after forcing veteran cops to retire! Cheaper Labour costs.................that is what it is all about. yeah quite amazing, 2...

Re: anyone up for a 500m shield run?
From memory, the female was going on the bronze course or something, and she asked if she had to do the fitness test and was told no. When she arrived for the course she was td that she had to do it to pass the course and failed the test. She had to leave the course and was humiliated in front of he...

Re: anyone up for a 500m shield run?
We have scrapped it and now do a shuttle run for 5 mins (or something) with no PSU kit on and push & pull on a machine for 5 reps. It is a farce...we all laughed when they showed us what we had to do..............even the trainers laughed and said blame the female Insp. from Manchester who got a few...

Re: Blackberry Storm - Do You Use It?
We use a blackberry on a daily basis and I think it is a good idea but the only problem I see is that officers are doing all the work, that was once done by ACR. We have to use the blackberry on the street for all persons and vehicle checks, if safe to do so, and ACR will ask for a reason if you ask...

Re: Crime Commissioner
Police Officers in every police staff position? Does he have any sort of realistic idea of how much that would cost? What a wally. Oh well, if we do get commissioners and each police force goes pear shaped- at least it will be the public's doing rather than blaming it on the government. We all know...

Re: police community support officers took down tent
no matter who is responsible for what in all this, what is the moral of the story here? is the moral that PCSOs called to the scene of a tent, set up on someone else's land, should not just blindly follow orders from their supervisor "to take it down" ..... but should seek to "solve" the whole situ...
