I was told today by a Sgt that he had been on a course today that our Chief Superintendent attended and that the CS stated that PCSO's in WY will be fazed out and recruitment will now be stopped permanently. I have never met this particular Sgt so how true this is I don't know, but he seemed serious...

To be honest I'm not sure. If they have not told you anything then you should be ok for December but we have been told there is a recruitment freeze on PCSO's. Hope you get through though.

Just before the Autumn statement, West Yorkshire Police put a recruitment freeze on PCSO's. 40 or so who were just waiting for their training to start were told its now cancelled. There are now strong rumours that the future is not looking good for PCSO's in the WYP. With funding for PCSO's no longe...

Im sorry if this question has been asked. Do all Police Officers have to be able to swim before they join the force? If 2 Police Officers had been 1st on the scene but neither could swim the what would have been reported? Could either PCSO swim ? I have to say that had it been me and I could not see...

In my division we take all manor of crime reports, we even have a crime work load as th IO. All well and good and i dont mind but it just means more time in the nick and less time on the streets.

PCSO'S DRIVING

Hi all, can you help. Im am putting a case forward at my division of the West Yorkshire Police for having a PCSO'S van. I just wanted to know does anyone know if any force lets PCSO'S drive vans, if so in what capacity and is it part funded by outside groups.
