Re: Moving on ....

You sound like me a couple of years ago. Whatever you do, don't jump without another job secured! If you still want something similar and "out and about" why not try something like Airport Security? I know that Heathrow were taking on new applications last month and the starting salary is roughly £2...

Re: criticism of "Facebook" type photos

"Public perception" - anyone not fully drilled in this by now needs sacking.

Yes, it is complete nonsense... but after nearly a decade of warnings, anyone falling foul of it today is just plain bloody stupid.

Re: PCSO. Water Pistol

No, I think the law is quite clear on the above legislation, but the fact that it says 'adapted or designed or discharge any noxious liquid, gas or other thing' means that it covers ANYTHING that discharges ANY gas or other thing. Hairspray, Dettol, toothpaste, WD40, jet wash machine, kid's toy cat...

Re: Police appeal from Suffolk

Why should Suffolk demand it's removal? There may be a perfectly good reason for the appeal which they cannot reveal and only the genuine loser will know the importance of it..... You didn't read what I said, so I'll write the sentence again, with emphasis on the part you completely ignored: IF THE...

Re: Police appeal from Suffolk

I'm still finding it hard to laugh at this or find the mystery "joke" that people seem to be alluding to. There are many, many comments from MoP's who are clearly outraged. This article is doing nothing but undermining confidence in Suffolk Police: - If it is a "joke" it has backfired. - If the news...

Re: Armed PCSOs?

Erm... looks more like "Quasar" :slwo:

PCSOs holding firearms is nothing new... during training. During my firearms input we were allowed to have a look at the G36's and sidearms.

Looks like he's holding a combat shotgun... but it's not a very good picture.

Re: TUFF TIMES and S59/60 of PRA 2002 or 165 of RTA 1988

Personally I don't see the need to caution someone for a section 59 of PRA 2002. It's not actually an offence it is a warning. The warning itself isn't (although breaching it is), but to actually do the warning you need reasonable grounds to suspect they have cotnravened S3 or S34 RTA1988. Both of ...

Re: Kent About to Recruit

Kent have just finished internal recruitment, of which there were 400+ applications for a tiny amount of positions. I doubt very much external recruitment is about to open. The Force's PCSO numbers have hardly fallen in recent years, so if they did start recruiting, again, it would only be a very sm...

Personally I don't see the need to caution someone for a section 59 of PRA 2002. It's not actually an offence it is a warning. S.59 PRA is not a "warning" in the same way that S.5 POA is not a "PND." They are Section & Act - the "warning" is just a thing that is given if the offence of S.3 / S.34 R...
