Re: End of Lincs PCSO's possibly?

I think they planned to replace as many with VPCSO's the volunteers, however I'm not sure if this is working out for them.

I think we will be reduced to a handful of say 20-30 then fazed out.

I'll be pleased to be proved wrong!

BTP PCSO

I was wondering if any BTP PCSO's out there could enlighten me... I know your role has always been closer to a regular officer than most other PCSO's. Now I've been in the job 10 years and I would say the role has changed massively, I was wondering if the BTP PCSO role has changed in the last 10 yea...

Re: PCSO Best practice...

It would be interesting to see what a BTP PCSO does as best practice as they are very close with in their role to a regular.

Re: VOLUNTEER PCSOS ARE HERE

An interesting one! In terms of special constables who have been around since the early 1900s, we all know there are good and bad examples of these officers. There may be benefits of such a scheme, bit IMHO why create another voluntary role, when one already exists? I must say I have concerns about...

Re: VOLUNTEER PCSOS ARE HERE

hi Patch, well Hardwick has run into a slight problem from KICK OFF He now needs a change in the law to actually give his VPCSOs any powers Jackie Rowe, co-ordinator of the scheme, said: “The aim is to have VPCSOs with exactly the same powers as PCSOs, but this is not yet possible as the Chief Cons...

Re: Powerless PCSO's want more Powers

Having been a PCSO for over 10yrs now, I have never been so demoralised at work, our Force seems to be determined to kill off Neighbourhood Policing, the bosses can talk the talk but that's not helping, as previously said they have taken away our ability to ticket vehicles, we can no longer ticket ...

Re: VOLUNTEER PCSOS ARE HERE

I'm glad you posted this Malc... There are a lot of different feelings about his at work at the moment, however from my prospective at least mr Hardwick is thinking we are a positive thing and he not only wants to keep us but also wants to develop the role. I'll let you all know how this goes on at ...

Re: Powerless PCSO's want more Powers

The problem is with this old chestnut is give us more powers and we become what the police federation says we are. Cheap police. However I can see what everyone is saying... I have no powers to deal with the issues the parish councils in my village want me to deal with, Parking as the force withdrew...

PCSO Best practice...

Hi all I hope everyone is well. I've been asked to assist with a project at work where we are looking at best practice and the PCSO role as a whole. I was wondering what works for you guys out there on the beat? What projects work? How you work successfully with your police colleagues etc? Anything ...

Re: PCSO Caught Out By The Chief

Well Mr Gargen perhaps if you got to know your officers they will know you.

How about having a friendly chat with them to find out what the issue was rather than publicly bollocking you staff on Twitter, I feel thats a bit shameful really.
