Re: Team Setups

Where I worked PCSO's used to be attached to the different shifts A, B, C ,D and Eand the Town Beat, the only real difference I noticed is that as a member of the team shift, you got to know that specfic set of officers and supervisor well, so it was always good if you needed extra support and help,...

Re: police officers still doing "inside jobs"

We had a mini riot on the Monday night, defended by 3 PCs and 3 PCSOs Could I ask what role the PCSO's were playing in this defence? this is not an anti PCSO question I am confused as to how they were defending anything in that scenario given no PPE. I would have thought in the situation discribed ...

Thats where it should be left though, its not all about going around defending the patch from all criminals, its about...

Re: Stab Vests

I wear my stab vest and load vest to fancy dress. . . Just kidding. I wear it every shift, all shift, even if I am in the station. How do you know someone with a knife isn't going to attend at the front counter. . .you don't. It's like a second skin but I think they are very comfortable. Do you eve...

Re: Tottenham

Do we not all hold the retention point. In an emergency we can be deployed 24/7 I would call London falling apart rioting take place all over an Emergency incident which as PCSO's and other Police staff we can be held on duty. As a member of Police Staff you CANNOT be "held on duty". If you are ask...

Re: Tottenham

I would hope everyone would stay and help out, that is why we all joined the police force but I have seen it where PCSOs were asked to remain on duty for 2 hrs, 2 remained and 2 went home. The PCs had no choice and it was looked into by management. Civilian staff cannot be made to remain on duty af...
