The simple thing is only two people really know what happened. They will be damned if they go public as they are damned for not. We can all speculate on what we believe but it will take a published report before we can discuss with any accuracy.

Get in the lake and do what exactly? Search for something in near zero visibility and possibly become another casualty that requires someone else to risk their life saving you. Sorry playing a little devils advocate here in an arguement that will never resolve. A situation on a different slant. Ambu...

Long time no post, however I fell the need to comment on theis emotive subject. First and fore-most none of us were at the scene, what we would have done is a moot point. Those officers right or wrong did wht they thought was required at the time. I would love to see the official report of the incid...

Thanks for the last post Micky, it makes much more sense when the posts being quoted are shown in their true context. I work for the same force as runningman and have yet to receive my search training (go figure, new recruits can search x years service cannot). There are many PCSO's who interpret th...

First of all, congrats on a top subject. Second, you are all as confusing as hell but I think I understand our limitations. Third, when I get my training on searches I will annoy the trainer by asking questions they can no doubt not answer. And finally, if a male PCSO detains a female (or vice-versa...

I am all for specials and welcome them with open arms, to do a job so potentially dangerous for no pay takes guts. However, on the last three operations I have worked on the same statement has been made. 'there were supposed to be some specials turning up but....' IMO unforgivable, if a special has ...

I would prefer to "Have them and not need them"
Than " Not have them and need them"
yes but you should always fall back on your training as a PCSO.

you have the option to withdraw

It's just an idea one of quite a few floating around, none of which are intended to alienate anyone. Well said, not a forum to alienate but a forum for certain ideas or questions to be asked. Due to the nature of the PCSO role we (or I) sometimes have to bluff my way through a situation. To discuss ...

Police only forum

Just an observation and no disrespect to the non-police members on the site but would we benefit from a police only forum? I ask as some questions may be of a sensitive nature that a member of the public should not have access to. Invitation only to the forum upon proving to Falkor or mod upon legit...

I am curious to know how the shift/allowances actually work out in real figures? I am currently shortlised for the West Yorkshire division and at just over 14K/year I may have to turn it down as I would be £500/month worse off. If anyone from West Yorks could give me an idea of the take home pay tha...
