Re: Handcuffs

handcuffs are not always the answer. I don't always use mine to detain people or arrest people. A majority of the time it is to do with your people skills unless it is a full blown fight or they have already legged it.

Re: NEW MET UNIFORM

So is my force still the only ones that issue "dual purpose" vests? As in it offers basic ballistic along with protection against bladed articles. Unfortunately it is in our pipeline to swap to just stab proof vests...

Re: NEW MET UNIFORM

From an ex cop & member of the publics point of view...... 1) PCSOs & PCs must always have an obvious difference in uniform. The idea of them looking the same is confusing to the public & as discussed on many occasions on other threads can lead a PCSO into dealing with situations that they might be...

Re: Your not allowed uniform !

that really doesn't sound good. Last year I got a deceased person's blood on both my jacket sleeves of my heavy weight jacket (less then 2 years old) at a fatal RTC, it was replaced no questions asked when I put in the circumstances on the uniform request. Do you have a per10 (near miss/accident for...

Re: NEW MET UNIFORM

I have to agree with the BB, generally I find the Met officers are generally quite scruffy looking. I am not saying you are though BC. That picture you posted as to be the smartest Met officer I have ever seen that displays a shoulder number. A shirt a tie is smarter over a wicking top any day. A fe...

Re: Officer Recruitment Policies Are 'Morally Wrong'

]I beg to diffeer, half the stuff I do, in fact more than half is what police officers do. The only thing I don't do is domestics, arresting, interviewing and the other paperwork stuff, everything else pretty much, yup!!! Therefore it is a fantastic grounding for being a PC. There is nothing else l...
