and why shouldn't the PCSO have been assigned to collect drugs? The article described the package as a "key piece of evidence" in a case where an employer suspected an employee of dealing on their premisis. In MY Force, a PCSO would not be expected to collect and input the evidence in these circums...

Yes it is Arthur. So why do you keep bringing up the past? It's a PCSO thing Bert. The Fed did their best to discredit and undermine PCSOs when the role began, and nowadays their mouthpiece is largely silent except for the odd mocking comment. At a meeting I was at the other day, a Fed Rep complain...

I stand corrected Bert (I must confess I don't read all of the "news" stories).

I stand by my assertion that Police magazine likes to pretend that Police Staff in general and PCSOs in particular don't exist though.

Perhaps they think that if they ignore us we'll go away...

Perhaps the tory-dominated Borough Council have a grudge against the Independent PCC who pipped the Tory candidate to the post?

The "non political" post of PCC has seldom proven so in practice.
