I feel very valued by the people in my neighbourhood. The other day I stopped a polish chap from knocking on the old folks homes trying to sell them stuff. One of the old chaps saw me later in the day and thanked me, adding keep up the good work. A “thank you” now and again from the people I serve i...

Nice to see that they did as they were trained too and did not try to be heroes.
Retreat and observe and take yourself out of danger and call for back up.

I was speaking about this the other day at my nick and one of the constables told me that last year they had all their week end rest days cancelled something to do with that stupid foot brawl game. Anyway he wrote to the fed asking why it was only front line staff who always had their rest days canc...

How do you get fast tracked to be a real PCSO? Why does every one assume we want to become constables? Drop in pay for two years, working full night shifts, stuck behind a desk for half the shift, called into work on days off without any extra pay, then pay rise not backdated. I think ill stop where...

Re: Strengthened role of police community support officers

* Issue fixed penalty notices for anti-social behaviour, such as littering; and I have had this power for over three years as well as dog fouling and all the other council ticket powers, but the useless council have still not got round to giving us the tickets. So having this power has been yet ano...

When I first transferred to my new area about a year ago I phoned every NHW in the area with the intention of going to see them and find out what problems they had. All of them said things like “we only set it up for the discount on the house insurance” or “ we don’t bother with it as we don’t have ...

When I started 3 years ago we were trained to take statements from other people and also do our own. Since then all newer PCSOs have not been trained to take statements from others and we have been told we are no longer expected to take them from other people. We are all still expected to produce ou...
