Re: Sir, Marm or first name ?
Because of my background I have always addressed Insp & above as Sir, and Sgt's as Sarge, although I do believe that some do not deserve the respect I am showing because of their poor management skills. Some of those that wear the 3 cheverons on their arm would not make L/Cpl in the MOD.

Re: Where have all our bobbies gone?
As PCSOs, we too have to 'prove' what we are doing by producing 'evidence' (ie; statistics and other unnecessary paperwork)- when we should just be allowed to get on with the 'visible presence' that we were formed for in the first place. Is it not about time the police introduced VPCSO (voluntary) ...

Re: Section 30 polcing and crime act.
this is force specific. Where i work there is no issuing of pnds to under 18s and force policy is very restrictive on who is eligible. They are mainly used as a custody disposal. Same policy in Derbyshire with regard to PND. The S.30 has been a very useful tool but can only be in force for 12mnths,...

Re: supporting "3 strikes and you're out" ?
A big yes from me. This country of ours has got to make a stand and say enough is enough. Rights for the victims, not for the offenders. Those responsible for the riots, then set them to hard labour. Make them clean up the mess they have created, and make them pay finacially.

I always thought that they had a negative attitude towards the PCSO role. They did not like PCSO's wearing Constabulary Cap Badge, they were in favour of that ridiculous Shield Badge.

Should PCSO's take Industrial Action
I just wondered how many PCSO's that are members of the PCS would go out on strike? At this moment in time this is not an issue that members of Unison have to face up to, but if it were to arise, then the question is the same again, how many would be prepared to take action? My only fear is that if ...

I will be watching the wedding on TV and thinking we have at last got someone in the making who is worthy to be the Monarch, unlike his adulteress Father.
Thank God for the Monarchy, I do not trust MP’s of any Party.

Re: A Question for Arthur . . .
They have done it to us in Derbyshire. We had a ballot (Unison PCSO's) to see which shift we would prefer, the results came in and they were passed onto HR. The ballot was accepted and letters were sent out from HR giving 3 months notice that the change would come into effect. Then the FED complaine...

Tommy say's "But.... are we REALLY value for money? The papers often say the "£21k a year earning plastic bobbies" - well, with the shift allowance & weekend working allowance, we earn more like £24,500 a year, very similar if not more, than a probationary PC". You might be e...

Well said Big Brother. I thought the MOD was a one for the rumour mill, but bless me the Police Service beats it hands down. A nod and a wink from a copper, never believe it in a million years.
