tax relief for PCSOs
Anyone know what we can claim back as tax relief? I have been looking online but lots of Government websites are out of date. I phoned the tax office last year, like around 15 of us here, and we got uniform laundry allowance and claimed back to when we started ( for me 2007) and I got around £120 ba...

Re: Police support officer faces patrolling beat by bus
im sorry but these budgets cuts have nothing to do with not replacing a contract vehicle which costs less than £50 per month! And what happens in real life then when you come on duty and have, for example on an average day, 4-5 crime reports in 4-5 villages, 2-3 house calls in different villages? Do...

Re: Cornwall PCSO charged over sex claims
hmm agree but lets not forget that the women did not bring the charges up AND it says that they were victims of crime, for all we know they could be victims of having a car aerial broken as I dont know any PCSOs who deal with domestic/rape victims etc

Re: Number of PCSO's to be Reduced to save momey
PCs in our force attend all meetings, with a PCSO, where possible, this still happens today. The PC is the Beat Manager and they do all reports, operations, crime reports, planning etc and PCSOs do community work & reassurance. They are both on first name terms with all their councillors, housing o...

Re: Number of PCSO's to be Reduced to save momey
That is what they are looking at, a slightly different role for the pcso so to allow pc's to be moved elsewhere. Pcso's will run their beat area and deal with all meetings and some crimes. If the pcso can't solve the problem then it will be given to a pc by tasking group. I think it could work and ...

Kent PCSOs have been able to do it for about a year, used to be a disposal but then the powers at be thought "hmm, still counts as a crime..." So now we have new ticket books designed for it and the info gets put onto the local info system. PCSOs can do it but they need the permission from a constab...
