you cannot just convert all pcso`s to pc`s as some are not good enough to be pc``s which is why we have a recruitment process in the first place. If a pcso wants to be a cop they have to join the queue like everyone else. :slna: Giving a power of arrest to a pcso will not make them a police officer....

I generally try to stay out of this debate but like ali i cannot. As i have stated many times i have done both roles over the past 5 years and i would like to express the following opinion. The pcso role is offically non confrontational meaning you are not deliberately sent to this sort of situation...

I have been at force training school this week on a course and have seen area PC`s attending pcso supervisors courses.
