Re: Met Police sued by 'amnesia' officer with criminal past

this situation of a PCSO going for PC being "re-vetted" is happening all the time. Upon applying for PC, many police forces decide to have the PCSO re-vetted to such a standard not used when they were first appointed as PCSO. There have already been several cases where the "new vetting" has unearth...

Re: Entire police team sacked for playing poker and backgamm

It is true, and it goes a lot further than is reported here! You can't say things like that without giving us the whole story. Not my place to. A forum is no place to put details like that. I know one of the PCSOs who is now a bus driver, disgraceful by all concerned! Its all in the pubic domain al...

Re: Officer Recruitment Policies Are 'Morally Wrong'

Yes there were quite a lot, but that wasn't to more robust vetting, it was due to things that had happened in their lives during their jobs as PCSOs. ...equals robust vetting surely? No, I believe the vetting is the same. Some of the things that I know for a fact stopped people passing are absolute...

Re: Officer Recruitment Policies Are 'Morally Wrong'

The vetting must have been tightend up though. I know a pcso who was booted out of hendon after 8weeks due to vetting. Somthing to do with his dad being put inside while he was a pcso or somthing. They didn't tell him this but it was the only change in his life and he told them about it. Doesn't seem...

Re: Officer Recruitment Policies Are 'Morally Wrong'

I have heard a large number of PCSO's that apply to PC's fail the vetting for the PC role so can't become PC's anyway. Wasn't it like 164 odd in the met during the last recruitment from PCSO-PC.

Re: Met rules on Tattoos..

I have heard if you have tattoos on your hands you must wear gloves to cover them up at all times. Even with a short sleeved shirt?

I have also heard the any face tattoos will have to be covered by way of a stocking or balaclava?

Anyone else heard this?

Or you could be told your doing 12-8 everyday. And not doing shifts anymore. 12-8 everyday or say 4-12 everyday would attract 0% shift allowance as you woudn't be doing any shifts at all..

Re: Met Shift Allowance

This is only going to effect people on under 12.5% at the moment. There are union meetings about this and ballot papers have gone out to all union memebers. Yes, you're right, I heard exact same thing. I am on 12.5% so it won't affect me thankfully. I would be kicking up a stink if they took that a...

Re: PC Course

Sgt87, I guess you did not read the email recruiment sent out to all 500 PCSO'S? I have read it and its very misleading I must say. It has put all of them PCSO's in a very difficult position. The met are recruiting externally for PCSO's with a closing date of 26th March. So I am sure 500 positions w...
