Maybe stop the entire block of traffic forcing them to stop as well? What if scenarios. Love em to bits. So you are aware of t...

Re: PCSO's Stopping a Moving Vehicle ??

Right, this question has been brought up sooo many times, it not hard listern. THE ONLY POWERS A PCSO has to stop a moving vehicle is in sect 59 of the police reform act. thats it! The other power which is (road checks) is by an inspectors authorisation which contrary to popular confusion is NOT fo...

Re: should we have NATIONAL fpns?

Going live on the 5th Feb - first anybody has heard about this, TYPICAL. Is this going nationwide on the 5th, or just Met for now? found this on the old NPIA website http://www.npia.police.uk/en/11260.htm The Met are a long way off from getting this. PDA's are not due for replacement this year and ...

Re: PCSOs ON TV SEARCHING IN HULL

PCSO's do not have the power to search a person under S54 PACE 1984. That is for constables, suitably designated DDO's and Escort Officers.

Re: Met got to save money but still waste it

Not in the SNT bases, they still have their printers I beieve. In the Police station which is a very large station. Pretty much, each office had a printer of some sort. Our office had an A3 colour inkjet and a black and white laser printer. One day we can in, and both had gone. As I walked round th...

Re: Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)

This is my specialist subject! Basically it applies to people who drive the vehicles below professionally... ie they earn a wage out of it. There are a few exemptions , one of the main being police, fire and army are excluded as part of their duties, but only when working as such. Another exemption ...

Re: Operation Cubo display.

We seized 19 vehicles on this op. Ranging from commercial vehicles to privately owned cars, although non as exclusive as the Ferrari. We prohibited so many vehicles because of serious defects and even prohibited a driver from driving for 45 hours due to not being able to produce driving records.

Re: The power to stop vehicles?

Im aware of S59 etc but can a T/PCSO stop me for using a mobile whilst driving or no seatbelt?? No, PCSO's cannot stop for you for con & use offences such as mobile phone. Hmmm, dunno, cannot seem to get any clarification on this. Can't give you a ticket for it, but can I stop you legally for it???...

Re: The power to stop vehicles?

Op Cubo is a Met wide operation, usually run on the same day throughout the Met, aimed at un-insured drivers. More often than not, arrests turn up from drugs to theft, and the odd wanted person too. We have had some good results on our borough and have had loads of op reclaim seizures. In my capaci...

Re: The power to stop vehicles?

I've checked a Met PCSO Designation powers and it lists the S67(3) Stop power and the power to control traffic for ab loads. So for MPS PCSO's working as part of Op Cubo you may only stop a vehicle for the purpose of a roadside test providing that persons qualified under S67(4) RTA 1988 are present ...

Re: The power to stop vehicles?

So I've done a little research and have found a matrix showing which forces designate which powers to PCSO's. You will quickly notice that the matrix shows a yes for power to stop vehicles for the purpose of testing under S67 RTA 1988 for nearly all forces. PCSOs_Audit_Table_May_2007_12835.pdf Howev...

Re: The power to stop vehicles?

Thanks for that, still not sure whether I have the power or not. Can't get to the bottom of it. The basis of me thinking I have is the fact that I've done my Power Set 2 training and have my new designation card which shows that, which states I have the powers of a traffic warden, which in theory m...

Re: The power to stop vehicles?

PCSO's do not have the power to stop vehicles at roadside checks unless they are designated with the S67 RTA 1988 power or unless it is in accordance with S4 PACE 1984 (forget S59 PRA for the moment). In the MPS that has not been done and unlikely to be done for a variety of reasons. If you are stop...

Re: Dream Over - Vetting

Sorry to hear that. You need to do a Data Protection Request on yourself. Request the check for Criminal records and local intelligence. An FOI request is not for personal data. 100% guarantee it isn't me, the FOI is what the letter / HR told me to do, but even so not appeal at all! Ok, but FOI is ...
