To be honest I've had nothing but a very positive reaction from the public (right down to them sponsoring me for my patrol bike!!)

Except for a couple of scrotes in my area, however most of them are good and honestly don't know the difference.... and they just call me "the good cop" :D

While riding my bike through my estatess I *do* ride on "some" pavements as otherwise it'd take me forever to get around, though I do ride very slowly and carefully with utmost care :) If it was an emergency then I'd be flat out through there.. Shopping centres, well most of them are stuck up. If th...

In Hampshire we've had FPNs and PNDs since the start. I've never written a ticket for anyone as yet (though lots of S/Cs (c12's)). I like to think of them as a last resort. Because of course if I run around giving FPNs and PNDs it's not going to seem to be "COMMUNITY FRIENDLY" and thus one ticket co...

We had a fitness test on our assessment day.
And ANOTHER fitness test on our first day of training.

Both of these fitness tests were identical to that of a PC applicant!

And so it should be. And I to know a lot of PCs who wouldn't be able to pass it now, hehehe.

So who was handing out donuts? ;)

Hope you get better soon!! Anyway, back to the topic of this thread. I've been called a cadet, a traffic warden, plastic pig, etc.. But the best I got was when one of the local youths told me that one of my police colleagues had told him 'not to worry about the PCSO he's got no authority'. So a quic...

I patrol solo every shift.

It's very rare for me to pair up with anyone unless I need help with a particular patrol problem that I'm targetting and I see if one of the beat PCs will help me out with it.

But that aside my beat is huge and I'm often the only officer out there in it.

Honestly though, if there is a bus going through I take it. . Ess, do your lot get free transport? Is it on and off duty? Yes mate, I get free transport on the buses if I'm in uniform. Not once have I been asked to pay because all the bus drivers know what I am etc and they are only too happy to ha...

Dot, I'd love to see a picture of your Corsas all marked up. Do you have one? Or a link to one on your county website? As for me, I very, very rarely drive our cars out here, however my beat is only about 6 miles long and 4 miles wide. So I can spent an entire shift just getting there and back!! :D ...

TWUN (TANGO WUN) is our control. The Controllers all have a good sense of humour on our desk for A-Div. I've met most of them now which is great. Anyway, on a good night there are lots of funny things going on over the radio, but the best thing I heard on another divisions radio channel one night wa...

Right, when do the entries close for the "AVATAR OF THE MONTH"???? Cos I've got one that will make you crack, hahahah.. just need the right situation to use it in! :D Cos I certainly will not be likely to reach the top 10 posters in any time soon. Then again as I'm a MOD on a very, very busy forum I...
