Folded arms

It was on the Board mate, don't think you should apply to be a detective. Its not a Met thing, its just that sort of personality that does it, like looping your arms into the stab vest. I'm an original Belgravia PCSO of 2002 so know what i'm talking about. :slby:

Folded arms

Guys, this is just a small criticism about choices of photographs of PCSOs and police officers at work being used on web pages. I work for the Met and it seems a bit of a trend to show officers with their arms folded across their chest. This is a universal signal used everywhere. Its meaning is clea...

The originals security PCSOs

I am an origial security PCSO from 2002 back when it all started in Westminster after the 9/11 attacks. Just to let you know we have all been asked to apply to other boroughs within the Met as we are no longer required. This has nothing to do with getting rid of PCSOs just a change at Westminster. W...

Met Pcso's

In my humble opinion as a Met Pcso I feel that most other Police forces have embraced the role of Pcso and see a need to develop it, and don’t have a problem. However... i think it may be to late for the Met’s Pcso’s as the damage is already done now, and it’s all over and totally ruined. Most think...

Why don't you join the job?

The other day I was discussing about my future as a Pcso with a Pc colleague. I went on to tell him that after three years of being a Pcso I had grown tired of the role and yearned a change of direction. Why don’t you become a vpcso he asked... no I replied I want to get away from the Pcso roll alto...

So - PCSOs are set to take the place of constables in the Me

In my SNT team this has already happened... On any one-day on duty my Pcso colleagues and myself are usually the only Police presence to be found on the streets of our ward... Thank the Lord... In our particular case, we as Pcso's are so bogged down with the SNT spin that we don't have much time to ...

Radio's

As a species we don't get on with each other do we? If you're wife or girlfriend hates you, it upsets you... probably. I'm so used to being unloved now as a Pcso that i am immune, I’m fibbing of course... Things improved when i brought a computer and went onto the internet, I’ve now got friends all ...

Mate.. Section 44 of the terrorism act allows you the right to search cars and bags not people. Just say you search a body and miss a knife and as a result somebody got stabbed (God forbid) you would be in the frame because you searched him and missed the knife.. you havn't had the training. I alway...

Searching

If you were instructed and trained do a body search at your initial traing course to become a Pcso or had additional training then by all means go ahead; but if not and it all goes belly up... then management will not back you i fear and you can collect your P45 on the way out.

The way i view the current situation

I’ve been a Pcso for five years and have experienced just about every type of prejudice that can be metered out by the Police or the public...and survived to tell the tale. I was at the Commissioners get together a few weeks ago and a sergeant put the issue of Pcso’s getting handcuffs forward. The c...
