Re: PCSOs accused of breaking and entering.....
testing the handles is one thing, but we were told to walk right in. No way! One amusing thing was that we used to put these hand leaflets through open doors and windows. I put one through a window once and it fluttered down inside and somehow right across the room to drift under the sofa like a fea...

Re: can I go picking wild flowers in the woods?
It came up years ago but it was kids damaging flowers. Essentially the same thing I guess ...sort of. No-one where I worked was bothered and it didn't get dealt with in the end. But i had a brief look into it. Something to do with cultivated plants being damaged was the nearest I got. But hey, it wa...

Re: PCSOs accused of breaking and entering.....
This takes me back. I had an inspector who basically was an arrogant arse and thought he could whatever he liked. He advised us to do this exact same thing while out and about. It was probably around this point where we began to fall out. For a start you have no idea who's house you are walking into...

Re: The End Is Nigh
I'm not speaking for every pcso by any means, but in my time working for the gmp I can honestly say I have never met more lazy people in any job I've done before or since. I could pin point several pcsos (and cops) in a certain gmp division that I would not pay in washers. The only subject I never h...

Absurd idea. Although I imagine that the gung-ho in the ranks would find it exciting

Re: Hundreds of PCSOs to lose their jobs in West Mids
Probably not the consensus on here but I'm amazed PCSO's lasted this long. Anyone can see what's coming which is one of the many reasons i've just left after 11 years. The fact is that PCSO's are paid a lot of money, cops cannot be easily made redundant, cuts have already been made in other areas. W...

Re: Tottenham
7133- It's not nonsense about PCSO/CSO. PCSO is a policing role, and we wear uniforms which clarify that. We are a link between the community and the police, hence the name Police Community Support Officer shortened (PCSO). As for who cares, I think 99% of PCSOs do, for starters. Furthermore, we ar...

Re: Tottenham
Disregarding the nonsense topic that's just flared up regarding whether it's PCSO or CSO (really, who cares?) i am glad to see that some people on here can see sense. Things must have changed somewhat since i last commented on this forum. That thing about someone wanting to don riot gear actually ma...

Re: Tottenham
ok ..for a short time only By the way, the only reason i'm here at all is because i receive emails from time to time from the forum and it's hard to resist a look. I do seem to recall telling a mod years ago that i would no longer be participating but i still get the stuff ..so there you go. Hi Tott...

Re: Tottenham
All my PCSO colleagues who were on their 7 days shift, i.e. working Saturday were made to stay until 6am. They were supposed to finish at 10pm. Presumably they thought something might start here in my outer London borough. I suppose they all volunteered to help out, civilians can't be made to stay ...

Re: what are PCSOs worried about most in 2010?
I look at it this way - I've been in a decent job since 2004 and in that time it's paid me very well. I've met some good people, had some strange experiences, and it's opened up a lot of opportunities for me. Not complaining at all. As someone else said, most jobs are under threat these days, it's n...
