Re: KIT TO BUY THAT IS NOT SUPPLIED

I want to get some boots, and I know there are other posts on the subject of boots, but there are soooo many different types, it's difficult to know what to get. I want something that has a good surface on top to shine, as I do like shiny footwear. Not wet look patent, you understand, but a good ar...

Re: KIT TO BUY THAT IS NOT SUPPLIED

I got a versabrite 3 and a tesco's LED torch as, sadly my budget wouldn't stretch to a surefire: Peli Versabrite III Obviously to supplement a proper torch. It clips to your vest which means you can write/read by it without having to hold a torch in your mouth. The VBIII is actually quite bright and...

Re: I.D. CARDS

IF you had to carry it, IF it was cost effective IF it was secure Is that enough IFs or should I go on I know none are at present but that is the whole point of sqying if IF you are genuinely confused now and have no idea what point I am trying to make there is no point going on with this or life S...

I'm genuinely confused now and have no idea what point you are trying to make. To which "if" are you referring?

Re: I.D. CARDS

I would have no objection to having one if you had to carry it, police could demand to see it when an offence had been committed, and the laptop with my details on is not left in a pup or on a train then sold to the Daily Mail by the person who finds it. BUT YOU DON'T HAVE TO CARRY IT!!!! You could...

Re: I.D. CARDS

To issue a FPN/PND you have to put on the ticket how you have confirmed the ID of the person so if we are to have to have ID cards this would help, I'm not saying it is fool proof, all I'm saying is a photo ID is better proof than a paper licence But you don't have to have it with you! You don't ha...

Re: 5,000 sick days for Essex PCSOs

In Essex the average number of PCSO working days lost is 10.9. At the DVLA the average number is 18.7 days, Child Support Agency 13.9 days, the Prison Service is 12 days and Job Centre is 11.1 days.
So why does the article focus on PCSO's and not the DVLA?

Re: I.D. CARDS

JEA Yes I'm not saying that every card will have the right details on, the point is in 2011 the government (if they get their way) will force you to buy a card which as soon as youv'e paid £30 and got your card you can put it in a draw at home and unless you change your job, the only time by law th...

Re: I.D. CARDS

police could demand to see it when an offence had been committed, why would the police want to? It won't stop people giving false details. they could get a forged one or a stolen one. I wasn't aware that giving false details was such a huge problem that it requires a multi billion pound solution an...

Re: I.D. CARDS

I wouldnt have to carry my passport with me to travel through the EU at least. No you wouldn't have to carry a passport, but you'd have to carry your ID card. How is that more convenient? Save an extra 20g in weight but pay £93 for it??!! Man on high street at 5pm, respectable chap with bowler hat ...

Re: I.D. CARDS

i cant see the point in one...but likewise, i cant see why people are against them other than if they have something to hide or of course scared of their info falling into wrong hands....which admittedly is a valid argument....but then if it isnt compulsory-dont get one If you can't see the point, ...

Re: I.D. CARDS

I hate the idea of them. Just think, what are they actually going to help with? Crime? Terrorism? Preventing ID theft/fraud? Stopping people giving false details to a PCSO (bit of an expensive solution to a minor offence! )? HOW??!! Seriously, if anyone can help me out on this one, please do....

Re: Are you a racist

Why should she lose her job for something that has got nothing to do with her work? Integrity! Also could the BBC really face headlines like "Racist works at BBC"? I'm sorry but asking for an "English" driver because "A guy with a turban is going to freak her out" is racist and I for one don't want...

Re: Are you a racist

Wow, I can't believe this woman is getting sympathy from people on this forum. :slwo: There is no question that she discriminated on the basis of race. That is racist. :slchee: Plum, if you want a doctor you can understand, fine. What you can't say is "I only want an English doctor because I can't u...
