ok this PCSO was convicted so she was absolutely wrong and made some bad judgements

losing her job is punishment enough in my view
Totally agree as well, our job is hard enough and we don't need more bad press.

I can speak both Cantonese and Mandarin, sometime I will be asked from station reception for interpreting to Chinese victim for initial enquiry. Should I ask the station officer to contact proper interpreter next time?

Do you get paid for your specialist skill

Some of you may have a different talents or specialist skills, such as language skills, have you been requested to assist your colleagues with your specialist skills? did you get extra paid for that? I always been asked for interpreting service for free!

OK. I hope you have a line manager who is not too hung up on that sort of thing. My line manager lets me wear my own bought combat trousers and hi vis T shirt. As long as I am comfortable and look smart he is happy. We have also run out of bike kit funding. Only issued kit now is helmet, sun glasse...
