I recently read a local newspaper article which said that training was being extended very soon to 7 weeks - no idea if that is right! Yes, I heard the same think from an instructor in Hendon. I also heard the training for a special constable are four weeks, so, our training is longer that them now...

Since we have been put in single patrol, we were advised to avoid any confrontation situations. Usually we will keep observe the situation and call for backup, let the PC issue the FPD to the offender. :?

Yes, I think we should carry some form of protective equipment, at least we should have handcuffs for detaining. :)
