What annoys me about the job for example: you are on patrol and a call comes in as a disturbance in a house. Its on your patch and you are in the area and you are told to stand down, i appreciate that we have no gear or any PPE and safety and all that but its still frustrating just felt useless ,we...

Why does everyone bang on about paper work its not hard to do i used to build all types of files for the courts its just part and parcel of the job, overall you need a audit trail in what you do and have to back up your actions and prove the offence, there is far worst jobs out there believe me, i h...

To your reply My force does not have any rank or progression, however i personally would love to have progression as i am really ambitious and knowing that there is no where to go with this role it makes me sometimes think whether I could do this for another 20 odd years. i think this is a good disc...

No power is needed for this. You are simply acting as a witness to an offence and essentially issuing a NIP (notice of intended prosecution). Have you got the power to issue obstruction tickets ? if not just imagine that you had and then it was taken away from you, knowing that this is one of many ...

We have community cadets they do police stuff for a period of time then they move on to the fire and ambulance.

Yeah i have heard this as well. I do believe this is a good move as there are few pcsos who take advantage of this role and do nothing.
