RE "What does Operation Trident target?" Black on black shootings. More black kids die from stabbings than guns. It also seems more innocent black kids die than the criminal ones. Trident doesn't seem to deal with the root causes it is reactive to the shootings after they have occured. I belive mor...

I'd wish the met wouldn't get so PC all the time. All met advertising shows white kids as the suspects. All the stabbings I have dealt with have involved black attakers on black victims. Rather than the met being scared of its shadow the met should be more focussed on advertising to a young black au...

I would hope it is only used by a PCSO in danger. We have had it used in the past when members of the public refuse to give details to the PCSO. This is not on and puts police at risk when they rush to the scene. Please not if chasing unless it is something very serious and you can't get through in ...

RE "Your borough should have a published minimum manning level for each shift. If your borough cannot maintain its minimum strength then you need to bringing this to the attention of your Fed reps and SMT. Moaning about it here is not going to sort it out." It was four at the main station on the bo...

Thanks tim419 but I am raising legitimate concerns at the moment which reflect the safety of the community. Our responce team paraded a shameful 4 officers last week, 2 in a car, 1 as gaoler and 1 in the front office all on a busy London borough. Having a PCSO step into the front office and take ove...

So does my force, however when they are away it would be nice for a PCSO to take over freeing up a police officer.

i think it would be good if PCSOs would cover up the front office on occasions as it could free up police officers to do their duty. Isn't that the role of PSCOs, especially with responce teams being cut back so much.

Stu lets get something straight, I joined the police to fight crime and help people. At the moment with all the police cuts we are finding it harder to do and putting ourselves in increasing more danger. So if I see a PCSO actually helping us they earn my respect if they don't well don't accept any ...

99.9% of calls to our CAd room are from public and not PCSOs. When PCSOs do put up its mostly B#ll#cks with one PCSO exception. The only real radio chatter we here from PCSOs is for abandoned vehicle checks on channel two. We have only 2 PCSOs out of about 60 who use channel one. One of them is very...

RE "As a PCSO of a few years now it is great to see how attitudes can change and how the role of the PCSO has potential for the future. We are the face of the police on the streets now. Teams of PCSOs and PCs working together to achieve a safer existence and a better quality of life for all. " Thes...

RE"We are front line out on foot patrol more than pc's so stats say we are going to come across more incidents whilste out!" I doubt that. Members of the are the eyes and ears of the police. A 999 call and police will be at the incident. PCSOs are two pairs of eyes in a specific area. The public are...
