Re: RIP brother in blue

RIP.

This is why I don't go out drinking in town. You never know who you will bump into, and what interaction you've had with them in the past. I can barely remember the identities of most people I've dealt with over 11 years, I doubt they've forgotten me,

Re: Bye Bye Tickets . . . .

If I'm right, we're also supposed to make sure they have the means to pay, although checking that can be harder than it sounds! Something else ticket related that has cropped up is the following. PCSO's have the power to issue tickets (under the ASB changes) for drunk and disorderly. Except if they...

Re: school Crossing patrols under threat?

Ridiculous, and a pathetic attempt to save not very much money. She'll be on no more than £7 an hour, 2 hours a day. Even if she worked 5 days a week, every week and through the school holidays she would earn no more than £3640. The true figure is going to be significantly less. That said, can't the...

I don't know if anyone else has seen it, or anyone here works for Lincs and would care to comment.

Re: Bye Bye Tickets . . . .

Why don't you issue him a community protection notice instead? Have you been designated the power?

I did my first one last week, to say it has teeth is an understatement. If the lad breaches it he is issued an FPN/goes straight to court.

Re: Autumn Statement, are we in big trouble?

I was told today by a Sgt that he had been on a course today that our Chief Superintendent attended and that the CS stated that PCSO's in WY will be fazed out and recruitment will now be stopped permanently. I have never met this particular Sgt so how true this is I don't know, but he seemed seriou...

Re: PCSO must travel by bus

Car use is out of control, it is damaging to the role and defeats the point. We have one PCSO who walks 5 miles to his beat walks around all day and then walks back whilst others are driving to their beat and driving around all day. The role has changed. We are expected to attend all types of incid...

Re: In case you come across this situation

I'm sure I've seen a general seizure power somewhere recently. Trying to find it. Ultimately, the passport is the property of the crown anyway. Cant find it. Although did find this http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2010/40/crossheading/false-identity-documents-etc/enacted Possession of false iden...

Re: PCSO must travel by bus

If rural PCSOs are going to be using vehicles, they should be specially marked as PCSO on the vehicles to distinguish from vehicles driven by police constables, like Lincolnshire. https://www.flickr.com/photos/56152475@N08/10139932915/lightbox/ It depends on the job role. We get sent to lots of RTC...
