SHIFTS

Post by C.L » Mon Sep 10, 2007 7:07 pm

I CURRENTLY WORK IN LINCOLNSHIRE , EAST DIVISION.
OUR SHIFTS ARE TERRIBLE, THEY ARE 7 ON 2 OFF 3 ON 2 OFF AND SO ON AND SO FORTH.
BY THE TIME YOUVE DONE THE 7 YOU ARE SHATTERED AND REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO 2 OFF, BUT THEY DONT SEEM ENOUGH TO RECOUPERATE PROPERLY READY FOR THE NEXT 3,
(NO GOOD AT ALL FOR FAMILY LIFE).

HOPEFULLY THIS IS GOING TO BE LOOKED INTO SHORTLY.
WE ARE CURRENTLY CONSIDERING LONGER SHIFTS I.E 10HRS AND HAVING 3 ON 2 OFF 2 ON 2 OFF. GR8 52 EXTRA DAYS A YEAR OFF BUT STILL KEEPING WITHIN OUR WORKING TIME GUIDANCE.

SHIFTS CURRENTLY VARY I.E-WEEK 1 8-4, WEEK 2 10-6, WEEK 3 2-10, WEEK 4 12-8. OBVIOUSLY THIS WILL ALL CHANGE SHOULD OUR PROPOSED NEW PATTERN GOES AHEAD

Sometimes though because of the way the public holidays fall we get rescheduled rest days to take etc which adds to our ample annual leave!

I too am a Lincs officer, and we are setting up our own pattern to run "In House" This is with the blessing of our Boss. Once it up and running I'll let you know how its going...

The old pattern is awful....

If you PM me I give you my PTP so we can have a chat about it.

6 on 4 off.

have to do 2 extra days every ten weeks to make up the hours, best thing about the job is the shifts. (or should that be the days off LOL)
