Folded arms
Guys, this is just a small criticism about choices of photographs of PCSOs and police officers at work being used on web pages. I work for the Met and it seems a bit of a trend to show officers with their arms folded across their chest. This is a universal signal used everywhere. Its meaning is clear, "I don't agree with what you are saying, I am uncertain, I don't like this situation." Let’s show PCSOs for what they are, friendly and willing to listen.

Re: Folded arms
Please show us where these photographs are Cockroach, can't say I have noticed any problem though.
Maybe be better to have a word with your Met collegues and ask them to stop folding their arms, then no-one could take photographs which present them in such a bad way.

It was on the Board mate, don't think you should apply to be a detective. Its not a Met thing, its just that sort of personality that does it, like looping your arms into the stab vest. I'm an original Belgravia PCSO of 2002 so know what i'm talking about.

No need for the cheek "mate" - I've already had a look and cannot find any of the photographs you are complaining about.Cockroach wrote:It was on the Board mate, don't think you should apply to be a detective.

Hi Cockroach
Are you sure the photos were on this site? I agree with Bert that the photos reflect reality. If PCSOs want to be shown looking keen and eager they should wake up when a camera is pointed at them.
