Too Much junk at the top of the message boards?

Is anybody else finding it iritating that everytime you go to the messageboard index you have to scroll down through over 6000 characters before you get to the board.

I'm not saying that it isn't useful to have these articles at the top but perhaps either a condensed version so that those that wanted to ignore them could.

What do you think?

Yes, it's irritating.

They don’t bother me as I always click “view posts since last visit” so don’t scroll down the page anyway.

But maybe just a link would be better, or just one story at a time.

micky I don't know if you remember from before but the news section shuts down when there are no news items to display

this has not disappeared due to your topic

although I do respect and welcome other members views of course there are no plans at this stage to alter the news section at the top of the forums

there IS a maximum length allowed on news articles that go in there and although you probably didn't ever realise, by pressing the link always contained to the actual article there was often far more to read there as the wording shown in our news section would often be CUT at the maximum limit

normally just one news item is featured in the news section, the maximum ever displayed was 3

normally a news item is displayed for 1 or 2 days

the maximum a news item was ever displayed for was 4 days

ALL news items featured in the news section are highly relevant to site content  ONLY PCSO valid articles will go in there

 I hope this meets the majority of members' approval
