Too thin to be a PCSO

I have just got turnt down for being too thin, after passing everything. They were really harsh, I had 2 medicals and I had put on weight the second time. They said to join the gym, before I had a chance to, they failed me. I feel like this was really harsh, since its so hard for me to put weight on. I eat so much! I walk around all day now at my current job so I dont see the problem. I want to be a police officer in the future and now it seems my dreams are shattered. anyone else had this problem? ;|

Sckla you must go and see your DOCTOR

Tell your Dr all this and ask for his advice

He will possibly give you a DIET SHEET so that you are eating the right sort of and amount of food

Set your sights for trying again in a year, I know that sounds like a long time my friend but that gives you a year to do the Diet Sheet thing matie, YOU'LL GET THERE!!

They do have a body mass index level that you need to meet I dont think you can be less than 17. Might be worth finding out what you are. As long as you pass the fitness test there shouldnt be a problem.

I think its pretty easy to fall short on the weight. I am a healthy size 10 and I am not very tall. I still only managed 21 on BMI.
I agree that you ought to get some diet advice from your local surgery. You may not be eating enough protein and it sounds like you have a mega high metabolism.
Good luck in the future :D

It has been discussed before and I don't agree with the BMI being a reason to reject somebody

there may be other factors involved here though. they must think that the OP's weight will be a big issue.

When i was just 18 I had the same problem. I had suddenly grew very tall quickly but didn't put the weight on. I failed a medical for the military for being under weight (BMI) and had to retake it later. I was advised before by someone to drink lots of water just before. I had about 4 litres of water in the hour before and past.

You can try the same but make sure they weight you first before the drug test.

Try eating a Kebab that should help.
