Day 1 MET PCSO

Post by rachael27161 » Wed May 02, 2012 9:19 am

Hi all,

I have passed the papersift for the MET PCSO, does anybody else have their day 1 on 17th May 2012?

So excited, but nervous.

Also can anybody tell me if this will mean that i'll take part in the Olympics?
(I applied when the MET released that they were employing 2000 PCSO's)

Thanks :slsm:

Also they are recruiting 500 not 2000 perhaps you were mistaken by the fact that they accepted 2500 applications

How did you find day 1? I had mine on 16th and felt like I messed up in one role-play. Otherwise, I think everything else was not too bad. The worst part is now...the waiting around!!! :slwo:

Hi Louish,

I had my assessment day last week. I'm now waiting for my results!! :slwo:

Ok, so for the written exercises...

Firstly, the time goes sooo quickly, so make sure you have some sort of structure in mind (jot a few main points on your blank sheet of paper).
It will be two problem scenario's about the Westshire Centre, which you have to respond to.

An example of the structure... Beginning --> Middle (what probs are) --> Your recocommendations to solve the problems --> End.

(Sorry i don't think I can go into much more detail, but you'll understand what I mean about the structure when you get there). Just keep reading your Westshire Centre Pack, make sure you're familiar with it before the assessment & you'll be fine.

Good Luck & let me know how it all goes or if you need any more help :slroll:

Good luck on the results.

Im almost sure you won't be ready for the olympics. You will still have to do day 2 (fitness medical) and then wait for the vetting check. In terms of trainers im sure a lot will be working during the olympics, hense why I have to wait until September to get an update waiting for my PC training.

Realistically, if succesful I'd imagine any time between Oct-December

You won't be taking part in the olympics, you won't be starting until the end of August, beginning of September. It'll all be over by then. I will be, and I wish I wasn't!!!

Count your blessings!!!
