Well I went to Mags court week before last, but didn't have to give evidence. Back in Mags for something else on 24th November, done jury service 4 times, but, yes, this will be the first, especially in a Crown Court, and even more a first THE OLD BAILEY!!

Just a bit of advice, Stand proud, Look smart, feel professional, give a good honest account of the incident, look the judge in the eye and most of all be a PCSO.

Good advice Gforce, always remember The Defence lawyer is not your best friend.

I have been to a Crown Court, I gave a bloody good account of myself was very professional and the force won the case on my evidence.

But take Gforce advice and go and watch a few cases so you can get a feel of the place

Have been to Magistrates loads of times and crown court once.everyone gets nervous but just stick to what you know and dont start guessing. It is the defence barristers job to put doubt in your mind so you question what you really saw and start altering what you put in your statement. They are very crafty, when i went to crown i had said in my statement that i had tried to get the offender to sit down on a bench on the train station platform,so he showed me a photo of the platform and of course there was no bench in the photo.Unfortunately for him i had good knowledge of that train station platform and quickly noticed that he had showed me me a photo of platform 2 and not platform 1 that had the bench on.He then tried to bully me into changing my mind but couldnt so had to move to the next question

Pop into Snow Hill nick, around the corner from the Old Bailey if you fancy a decent cheap breakfast before hand. Nothing worse than giving evidence when all you can think about is your stomach!

Got called along with 3 other PCSOs to the Bailey about 8 weeks ago!

Once they got there and saw us all there they changed their plea to Guilty!

The two defendants got 5 years each for aggravated burglary and offensive weapons! The only evidence came from the victim and 4 PCSOs!
