The Daily Fail

Post by Big Brother » Sat Feb 20, 2010 9:26 am

The mail is getting itself in a right tiswas about the Police again. Last week they're in a furor about cops staying on after their shift to finish work, and shock horror they're getting paid for it.

Now they're in a fury because those cops are now going home instead of staying on and not getting paid for it.

Do they not have any continuity staff? Or are they like The Party in 1984 where they think if they change their minds maybe nobody will notice???

:slwo: This could easily be sorted by employing civilian staff to deal with handovers. They start at 7am and take the file direct from the officer. That way there is no cost to the force and officers get off on time. It is not rocket science!!

You don't need to employ any new staff to deal with it, just pass it on to the next shift.

It's been done this way for ages, another non-story.

Perhaps a better way to reduce overtime spend (rather than asking officers to 'consider' the financial implications when deciding the necessity for arrest) would be to reduce the time it takes to deal with an arrest!

Basically the daily fail can print whatever it chooses because it's boss/owner is also the chair for the press complaints committee , I personally think they have a tombola sitting in the office filled with cr@p anti police anti gay anti immigrant anti women stories and they just dip in twice a week .
