NEIGHBOURHOOD BLUES THIS MORNING

OMG, Neighbourhood Blues this morning. I have never seen so much praise for PCSOs in one place. Incredible positive press, shame it's on daytime TV. If you haven't seen it, I suggest you watch it on catch up. It's Hull again, the Inspector could not speak highly enough of us. He was saying that we are invaluable, we're the ones who know all the villians, know the problems etc etc. He confirmed that Humberside PCSOs have full power set that the government gave, and he said, if they got more powers, they would probably give them those too.

Made me feel all warm inside! :slcud:

I think you'll find that most people in most areas of the country still think we're bobbies.

It's an urban myth that people know exactly what we are, I get asked what I do as a full-time job every week because people think I'm a special, thus further confusion.
Power of arrest for PCSOs for 'as and when' - s24a PACE & common law (i.e. BoP) using s3 CLA 1967

I'm a PCSO, I will WATCH you get your head kicked in (as per force policy)

An elderly lady came up to me today and said "If you wore those bright yellow jackets we could see you better and feel safer, I thought you were a traffic warden!"
