Lancashire jobs look to be going soon.

Having barely survived in 2010, it is looking very bleak indeed up here.

Chief Con was on the telly on Monday saying the force will not be viable by 2020.

He highlighted catastrophic effects of proposed cuts which will ensure we lose neighbourhood as well as dogs, mounted, and a whole host of other

departments. What will be left will be hugely depleted service with the only capability being a blue light response available.

I have the details for the worst case scenario and it makes for a gloomy read.

I believe there are imminent talks and attempts to persuade the government to reconsider. There is a formula of some description to be factored in.

I don't know what that specifically refers too. All in all a bad situation. Even if the cuts can be reduced, I cannot see the PCSO'S surviving long into the new year. :slcud:

Our Inspector told us this morning that the government is looking again at police budgets as some of the smaller forces have been under budgeted for too long and the bigger ones have been over budgeted for too long. Whether this will be enough to reverse or reduce PCSO losses is another thing.

I offer my sympathies to anyone losing their job, or having already done so. My force, GMP, is 'reviewing' neighbourhood policing PCSOs in 2016. The cops have been placed under review already here, in all specialisms. There is an ongoing pilot scheme in Salford, whereby a 16 week shift pattern is being reduced to a 12 week pattern, with emphasis on working more tens and less 8s, adding more earlies and lates, but less nights. Overall, cops will receive more RDs, but they are already facing shortages in that current 5-15 year experienced officers are handing their tickets in, they've had enough. It is all only going one way.
