EVER BEEN THREATNED WITH A KNIFE?????

Post by alihowe » Mon Jun 05, 2006 7:57 pm

We've heard a lot in the news lately of PC's being threatned, even stabbed by knives. It's a worrying prospect for anyone to say the least.

As PCSO's have you ever been threatned with a Knife, what did you do?

Run?

Disarm the culprit?

Call up for UA and observe from a distance?

Poo your pants etc?

I'm sure it's not only PC's that come across this, maybe some of you have too?

I think I would press my red button then try to talk my way out, If you turn you back they may try to put something in it! :(

Yes myself and a colleague bundled a guy to the ground who"d just robbed someone at knifepoint. Loadsa Met and Parkies turned up for that one as we just took him down in the middle of the Shepherds Bush roundabout and found the property on him and chucked over a wall.

My colleague drove the car at him across the green forcing his bike into teh railings.
Also a BTP PC pushed on male onto the live tracks after he pointed a gun at him.

When I was a Traffic Warden, I was threatened by a knife waving, "Core Nominal", who had been drinking. He had mistaken me for a Parking Attendant, who had ticketed his brothers car. He kept walking into the road, and then back again, shouting and raving. I did manage to radio for assistance, and the CCTV was also monitoring events. A police car, and van were on the scene very quickly, and he was duly arrested. The magistrates deferred the case, and bailed him to appear later, but was re-arrested for assault

Twice for me as a PCSO...........

First time, not aimed at me but I saw my PC colleague slashed in the head and face by a Stanley Knife........... not nice at all!

Second time, was following a young female who had stolen many fragrances from Debenhams (along with some security personnel from the town), once we in sight of the female she clocked us and produced a large bread knife and started making threats with it  We stood well back and updated our control room. Needless to say Police arrived quickly thank god.
