I checked the log book and the drivers classification requirement was BASIC.
The Mondeo was unmarked and was just an average car with absolutely no extra kit added to it.
Only used the car to transport some papers to another nick.

Just out of interest folks, do you realise how far you walk each day
I bought a Pedometer and clocked up an average of 7 to 12 miles a day, no wonder I'm cream crackered when I get home
Mind you the exercise is good for you, and I've never felt better, so who needs a PCSO CAR anyway

Being based at a nick next to Victoria Coach station i have seen the TFL PCSO's drive the police vans that we usually see the PC's drive.
Had to look twice to believe it because i thought they wouldn't be allowed to drive those vans with the large blue lights.
In our nick we have two Ford Transit vans clearly marked "POLICE COMMUNITY SUPPORT", although i have driven the police panda (fiesta).

At our nick (kennington) we spoke t our Inspector about having a van /car ,He said we cannot have one because the whole point of having us (pcso's) is for us to be seen out walking and not driving around
So we has to walk Anyway to be honest if we did ever get a van/car
there would be SO much bitching amonst the pcso's here about who would actully drive it so maybe it's a good thing we haven't got one !

I was told for every tea stop you need a wee stop.
If this is true! You will be in and out of the shops all day

That's true, bit harder for us
Be careful you don't want an FPN for £80

WE'RE GETTING A MERCEDES!!!!!!!!
One of our new CSO's was given the task of approaching all the local buisnesses asking if they'd help fund a PCSO car. Mercedes are bloomin giving us one!
An A1 or something. I'd prefer something like a C220 or similar high powered saloon but hey, it's better than a Fiesta, which incidentally died on us yesterday

Big brother is watching you.
