PCSOs IN THE RAIN

Post by typecastboy » Mon Nov 10, 2008 6:36 pm

I just drove down to the local council tip, with a car full of crap to dump, and I saw too very peed off looking PCSOs standing at the bus stop in the absolute pouring rain, and I asked myself "Do you really want to do that?"

The answer was yes, but I did feel sorry for them.

Become a rural officer and you can hide in the car... sometimes... other than that, get wet.

lol the rain comes through my hi vis like a hot knife through butter. I think washing it a few times has removed the waterproofing

I have not washed mine yet, the cycle fleece also has a waterproof like lining on the inside, the fleece which comes with our big horrible blue coat also doesnt let water through, which i found surprising.. so ill just make sure not to wash it, rather be smelly but dry...lol

yeah lol....its horrible when you finish at 2200hrs with soaking kit and know you're back on duty at 0900hrs the next day. I don't mind getting wet and cold, but its horrible putting a wet uniform on...unless you're a police diver I guess

i wish they would issue waterproof hats. I don't mind being in the rain but I hate the fact that an ounce of water is instantly soaked up by my hat!

I'm looking forward to it so much. I was interested to read in another thread somewhere that rather than getting fitter being a PCSO, many have put on weight due to eating crap on shifts.
