When is someone out there going to realize that we all live in a real world.
True PCSO's should never get put in to a situation were a Police Officer should deal with, But its a real world we live in not the type of world that the media and others who have their heads stuck in the sand live.

I wish when I did my training that the issue of a crystal ball was part of our daily patrol kit, and we all knew what was going to happen before it did, But in this real world it just don't happen.

I wear a Police issue uniform with a blue tie and blue markings and it reads PCSO all over it.

Situation happen and before you know it your dragged in to deal with it, Yes I do request assistances but that don't stop things escalating or getting out of control before back up arrives, Do I stand back and get my PNB out and just write things down or hide out the way NO I'm their to do a job on behalf off my employers and if it gets a bit hairy then be it so, I will provide assistance and deal with the consequences afterwards.

I am no hero just a bloke doing my job. So if the Daily Mail or some other Rag has a problem with that, so be it.

What absolute rubbish. You're walking to the shops and get your head kicked in. You honestly want a PCSO who would stand and watch whilst writing down everything in their PNB? You have serious problems. You are also a complete snob. I know some PCSOs who are better and more effective than some PCs. I'm glad you're not in the job anymore.
Power of arrest for PCSOs for 'as and when' - s24a PACE & common law (i.e. BoP) using s3 CLA 1967

I'm a PCSO, I will WATCH you get your head kicked in (as per force policy)

Ive not been about on this site for a little while and was slightly taken aback by this from JR.

Jimmy, you seem to be deliberately misinterpreting what I meant.
A PCSO offering to assist someone who is being assaulted whilst on his patrols is very different to the "Starskey and Hutch" life that ScaredMET and a couple of others seem to want to have.

Oh, and name calling is not only childish but it also breaches the board rules I think you will find...

I have to say that Im a bit disappointed but not surprised by this comment.

Im sure that had I called a PCSO a name or made another derogatory comment then I would have been censured...

Im paying less and less attention to this site these days simply because the likes of scaredMET and JR are free to be as insulting as they choose to other posters just as long as they arent PCSOs....

A real shame...

Hi Falkor, Evereyone.

About time I stuck my head round the dooor again and am pleased to see the banter and lively debates are still happening lol.
Its what makes forums interesting, seven years into my job as a pcso and have been a member of this forum since 2004 and the debate which sometimes steps over the line is what makes this a good forum to chat on and get your point across.
Hope you are all well.

Stu

Whatever did you do that for for goodness sakes?

Isnt this the same sort of sillyness we had from scaredMET before he left?

I dispair at the childishness of some people - people who are supposed to be in a responsible job and often aspire to being a police constable.
What hope is there if at the first sign of upset all their teddies get thrown from the cot?

TCB, is a real shame you had to do that...there is nothing wrong with a bit of healthy debate??

Typecast- That's a pity, because your posts are some of the very best on here (interesting, informative, common sense, logical, etc)... this forum needs more good posts like yours, not less. The last thing we want on here is a site akin to that of The Guardian!

Oh, and by the way, it's obvious to me that those who continuously criticise you on here do so out of pure jealousy- such people are known as 'paper tigers', to put it mildly...
I may not agree with what you have to say- but I'll defend to the death (well, almost) your right to say it.

May the Reasonable Force be with you !
