RAISING MONEY FOR CHARITY IDEAS

I have decided to start raising money for charity and have my team behind me, and hope to get lots more Met officers involved too, PCs and PCSOs.

At present we are planning a walk of Hadrians Wall, a trek up Snowdon and possibly a sponsored pub crawl through the borough.

We are going to raise money for the brother of a PC on another borough who has recently come back from Afghanistan after having both legs blown off. He has apparently been told that he cannot have prosthetic legs as his legs have been removed too high, therefore he will need a wheelchair and ongoing care for the rest of his life, so we are going to try to raise as much as we can for him. His brother is doing the London Marathon next year.

If any other Met officers out there would like to take part, or offer sponsorship, please let me know and I'll get in touch nearer the time, and when final details and dates have been confirmed.

At the moment, just coming up with other ideas for fundraising, Elcapitan has just come up with another involving the boroughs schools, which sounds quite a good idea. Will have to run it past the skipper first though. £30K for a cycle ride is some feat, how many of you did it?
